BiographyFaran is a founding member and Managing Director of Lam Capital. She joined Lam Research after two decades in the Semiconductor industry, which included multiple startups. Faran has developed several commercially successful products and has a track record of developing business opportunities at both startups and large companies. Faran has been an invited speaker and panelist and has served on several technical committees. She has authored more than 60 peer reviewed papers and has been granted 26 patents. Faran earned a B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from University of Colorado in Boulder and M.S. in Management from Graduate School of Business at Stanford. In 2019 Faran was named as one of the Powerlist 100 by Global Corporate Venturing, a list of the top 100 leaders in the corporate venture world.
Gary Bultman has been our senior vice president, Corporate Development with responsibility for driving our strategic agenda, inclusive of organic and inorganic strategies, focused on increasing the success of our business and expanding our horizons, since April 2018. Immediately prior to that time, Mr. Bultman had been senior vice president, Strategic Development and Emerging Markets from January 2013. Prior to joining us, Mr. Bultman held various roles, including division general manager, strategic development, and chief marketing officer, at KLA-Tencor. Prior to that Mr. Bultman was at Applied Materials, where he gained experience in equipment engineering, marketing, and sales. He started his career at AT&T Corporation where he served as a semiconductor process engineer. Mr. Bultman earned a B.S. degree in nuclear engineering from Kansas State University.
Kevin joined Lam Capital mid-2020 bringing over 15 years of entrepreneurial and operating experience in materials-centric deep- and bio-tech companies. Most recently, Kevin was CEO of Crop Enhancement, an agriculture technology company commercializing novel products that replace synthetic pesticides, leading it from Seed through Series B. Prior to that, Kevin held senior roles at Hanergy (EVP of Silicon Valley Product Development Group) and Applied Materials (CMO of Energy and Environmental Solutions and GM of Energy Storage Solutions). Prior to Applied, Kevin led business development and product management efforts at NanoGram (acquired), AMD/Spansion, and Lumentum. Kevin’s passion for entrepreneurship was ignited early in his career when he co-founded Cumulus Photonics to commercialize innovative optical networking equipment. Kevin earned PhD and SM degrees in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT, a BS in Engineering Science from Penn State University, and is a Kauffman Fellows Finalist. He is a director of Crop Enhancement and mentor with the MIT VMS.
Sean joined the Lam Research Corporate Development team in 2018 and Lam Capital in 2020, focusing on semiconductor devices and semiconductor equipment critical sub-systems. Sean also supports Lam Capital’s investment efforts in Asia. Prior to joining Lam Research, Sean led data analytics and operations at Amazon. Sean has previously held multiple positions at Applied Materials, including Etch and Deposition chamber engineering and product management. Sean earned an MBA degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University, and a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan.
Eva joined Lam Capital in early 2020 and is responsible for operations, financial modeling and deal sourcing at Lam Capital. Before joining the Lam Capital team, she cofounded and worked for several start-ups in the Internet of Things space, such as meShare and Zmodo, and was in charge of fundraising and product commercialization. She received an M.B.A. from the University of California – Berkeley, Haas School of Business and holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Economics and Accounting.
Bo joined Lam Capital in 2018, focusing on semiconductor and advanced manufacturing. Bo also leads Lam Capital’s investment in Asia. Prior to joining Lam Research, Bo was co-founder and president of Maven Optronics China, advancing chip scale packaging LEDs for display and healthcare industries. Prior to Maven, Bo held multiple positions at Applied Materials, including director of solar product sales for north Asia, associate at Applied Ventures, and manager in new business development. His early experience includes commercialization of machine learning from academia into industry, deep tech startup in the US and Greater China, and product development in semiconductor industry. He also served as co-director of the Venture Capital Group at HYSTA where he strove to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem for cross-border startups. Bo earned a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from University of California at Berkeley, MBA degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, and B.S. degree in manufacturing from Tsinghua University.
